Agribank hosts Erongo market day
In collaboration with stakeholders within the agricultural sector in the Erongo Region, Agribank hosted the first ever agri-market day at the start of the month in Omaruru. The market day took place from 1 to 2 July under the theme "market your produce and grow your agribusiness."
The market day was aimed at promoting secure household income and improved national food security.
Similarly, it also served as a platform for small-scale farmers in Erongo to exhibit and market a variety of their produce while also highlighting value-addition opportunities.
Sharing ideas
More importantly, it enabled farmers to share best practices and challenges, while serving as a motivation for prospective emerging farmers to engage in agricultural activities.
Various activities, such as information sessions and practical demonstrations for farmers, took place.
As a development finance institution, Agribank personnel attended the event to assist farmers who may have wanted to access its products and services.
Agribank provides affordable, innovative, and inclusive financing options to Namibians willing to engage and participate in the agriculture sector.
Joining forces with other stakeholders in events such as the market day serves to demonstrate the bank’s proactiveness in reaching out to potential and existing customers seeking funding at affordable rates for business expansion and development.
Among other stakeholders, the agriculture ministry, the police and regional councillors were partners in hosting the event.
Going forward, the bank plans to host similar events in all other regions.
