AEA congress set for June

The 34th annual congress of the Agricultural Employers' Association (AEA) is scheduled to take place on 7 June at the Arebbusch Travel Lodge in Windhoek. This year's theme is 'Character Building on Farms', and the focus will be on the development and training of farm workers and their children.

Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU) president Piet Gouws will be the opening speaker, while Uys Prinsloo from the Nyime Anti-Poaching Unit will speak about drug abuse on farms.

Meanwhile, Namibia Media Holdings' Sharnay Botha will speak about projects to empower African children, and Nantie van Aswegen from Character Transformation Namibia will be the last speaker, tackling the topic 'character building for the future'.

Requirements

The NAU said farmers' associations affiliated with the union are welcome to send delegates to the congress, provided they comply with the requirements as per Article 6 of the NAU constitution. “Farmers ' associations with between 15 and 25 registered members may send one delegate; those with between 26 and 50 members two delegates; and those with between 51 and 100 members are entitled to send three delegates.”

Congress documentation will be sent electronically to delegates as soon as their documents have been received. Hard copies will be available to every delegate at the congress.
