SHORTS: One year-old drowns in bucket of water

A one-year and three-month-old baby boy tragically drowned in a water bucket on Wednesday at Onaniki village in the Otamanzi Constituency of the Omusati Region.



The incident occurred around 15:00, according to Omusati police regional commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson. The child, identified as Peacemaker Godwill Uugwanga, drowned in a plastic bucket of water that was kept in the storeroom within their homestead.



Commissioner Basson explained that the guardians of the child were in the resting hut of the house when the incident happened.



Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
