Shorts: Four shacks destroyed in Kuisebmund fire
A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at around 16h50 at house number 39, Barber Street in Kuisebmund, Walvis Bay, resulting in the destruction of four informal dwellings.
According to Erongo police, the blaze is believed to have started in one of the shacks before spreading rapidly to adjacent structures. Although a few personal belongings were salvaged, most property was lost to the flames. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The Walvis Bay Fire Brigade responded promptly and managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread further. At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and police investigations are ongoing.
Local authorities have not yet confirmed if any temporary shelter will be provided to the affected residents.
