Health worker dies in road accident

A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 36-year-old Nankudu hospital staff member following a vehicle rollover accident at Mbome village in the Kavango West Region.
The incident, confirmed by Kavango West police regional commander, Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, occurred on Monday between 17:00 and 18:00 on a gravel road between Mpungu and Silikunga village.
The deceased, identified as Karufere Gideon Hausiku, died at the scene.
"When [they] reached Mbome village, it's alleged that the driver avoided bumping two donkeys that were moving toward the road, not knowing they were tied to a tree. As a result, he lost control of the vehicle...,” said Sakuwa-Neo.
The remaining occupants, including the driver, sustained injuries and were treated accordingly.
