Another child drowns while herding goats

Over the weekend, the Namibian Police announced the drowning of an eight-year-old boy in the Omusati Region’s Okando village.
Kaanduka Samuel Shetekela reportedly drowned in a water pan, after he and an 11-year-old boy had been sent to look after goats. Shetekela was a grade two learner at Emvula Combined School in the village.
In an unrelated incident, a three-month-old baby and two adult women were injured over the weekend after the driver of an Isuzu bakkie allegedly lost control of the vehicle after a rear tyre burst, causing it to overturn.
All the injured were rushed to the Sesfontein Health Centre for medical treatment.
