Brothers donate to Oshana police
Aiding the fight against crime
The equipment, worth N$13 000, will cater for the repair of about five cars that have minor damage and are overdue for a service.
Oshana regional police commander, Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria, was beaming on Tuesday when two brothers donated car repair materials to help the police fight crime this festive season.
Shiti-Shombe Mathias Johannes handed over the equipment - which will cater for the repair of about five cars that have minor damage and are overdue for a service - alongside his brother, who preferred not to be named.
The former People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) combatant said Namibians should meet government halfway and offer assistance where they can.
“We should meet our skilled forces halfway. December is approaching and crime will go up. I’m not doing this because the government cannot do it; I am doing it because we need to assist our security forces so we can be safe,” Johannes stressed.
For the community
Sakaria said they appreciate the brothers’ efforts very much.
“We will be ready for the festive operations. We appeal to the business community to emulate this gesture. Policing is not just for the police, but for the community.
“If the community is safe, the town will attract investors because the region will be safe,” he said.
The donated items are valued at N$13 000.
