Two children, both five years old, drowned in the Okagongo kAakwambashu village, in the Omusati Region's Ogongo constituency, last Friday.

It is alleged that three children were left to look after goats by two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, who went to work in the mahangu field.

“While the older children were cultivating, one of the young ones who was part of the three went to report that the two others went into water. When the teens ran to the well, they found that the two children had drowned," a police report into the deaths read.

The bodies were transported to the Okahao police mortuary for autopsies.
