Omuthiya murder suspect denied bail

Thomas Paulus Nguvauva (32) was denied bail in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
He stands accused of murder after he allegedly smashed 46-year-old Andreas Lukas’ head against a wall during a fight last Friday.
The incident took place at Omuthiya, near the open market. According to a police report, the victim stabbed Nguvauva in his buttocks and his head with a traditional dagger.
While being pursued, Nguvauva reportedly turned around, grabbed the deceased and hit his head against a wall.
The report said the deceased had grabbed the dagger from an elderly man selling knives at the market before the altercation.
Magistrate Nelao Ya France adjourned the matter until 5 August. Police investigations continue.
