National Assembly in recess

The National Assembly will go on recess and is set to resume on 5 September, National Assembly spokesperson Sakeus Kadhikwa said.
A series of oversight visits will be undertaken while the National Assembly is in recess.
The National Assembly standing committees will engage in their oversight responsibilities with selected stakeholders during the month of August, Kadhikwa explained.
During the period under review, 18 Bills were tabled, of which two were Private Members’ bills; eight Bills passed without amendments; nine Bills passed with amendments; one Bill withdrawn; and two International Instruments were tabled and adopted.
One motion was tabled, of which four were withdrawn, six were agreed to, one lapsed, and eight were referred to parliamentary committees.
