JUST IN: The ministry of public enterprises has been dissolved

JUST IN: The ministry of public enterprises has been dissolved and will now be merged together with treasury, to become the ministry of finance and public enterprises, a government gazette shows. President Hage Geingob last week signed into existence the new ministry. “In terms of Article 32(8) of the Namibian Constitution, I announce that I have, under the powers vested in me by - (a) Sub-Article (3)(g) of that Article - (i) dissolved the Ministry of Public Enterprises established by Schedule 1 of Proclamation No. 34 of 4 November 2015; and (ii) established the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises,” he said. Iipumbu Shiimi is the new head of the ministry while Maureen Hinda-Mbeunde deputises him.
