Pigs feast on dumped baby’s body

News in short
Tuyeimo Haidula
Pigs ate the body of a baby, which was concealed in a plastic bag, at Oshikuku on Tuesday.

A case of murder and concealment of birth has been opened and is being investigated by the Omusati police.

Crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the discovery was made at around 16:30 at an unserviced plot in the town.

It is alleged that members of the public heard pigs making noise while eating something in a plastic bag, which led them to investigate.

“They found out that the plastic bag contained human remains (baby bones) and baby clothes stained with blood. They informed the police,” he said.

The remaining body parts were transported to the Okahao police station mortuary for a postmortem.

No arrests have been made, and police investigations continue.
