Why Lady May must win
Some of the requirements to score votes when you are in the Big Brother house is to be original, fun, tolerant and be able to live in harmony with other people. Lady May has been all of that in and outside the Big Brother StarGame house, and that’s why she should bring the US$ 300 000 (N$2.4 million) home.
People who know her say she is a shy person, but an entertainer being shy will not really bring her far, now will it?
Born Martha Namundjebo in December 1986 in exile in Angola, Lady May started singing at a tender age of six. Her rise to fame started in 2004 when she walked away with the award for Best Female Artist at the Sanlam-NBC Music Awards with the song Lady for Life with the help of the talented producer Kanibal.
In 2005 she released her first album Kamali, which means Little Martha in Oshiwambo. That album made headlines and added to her fame.
Lady May is one of the most popular and the first female artists to make it big in Namibia.
She made hits like Come and Get me , Bubblegum and the popular Chokola, which is the title song for the album, also named Chokola received a lot of airplay as music videos on Channel O and MTV Base Africa.
This video also charted on Channel O and won the award for Best Dance Video at the 2008 Channel O Music Video Awards.
In 2008, Martha performed at the Big Brother Africa 3 eviction show in Johannesburg, South Africa.
On June 4, 2011, she received a Namibian Annual Music awards in the category ‘Best House Music’, however, due to the verbally attack towards the audience as she was about to receive the award, she was sent out of the hall and was stripped off it as the winner. She apologized through a press conference on June 7, 2011.
Today, she is the Namibian darling who made it to the last standing crew in the biggest Big Brother Africa show.
Lady May is one of the top three strongest contenders in the house.
Last week the countries that voted to keep her in the house were Angola, Botswana and Namibia, and about three weeks ago was Botswana, Liberia, Namibia, South Africa and Sierra Leone.
