#JustIn: China plans industrial park in Namibia

STAFF REPORTER
The creation of a Hunan industrial park within a national economic zone in Namibia forms part of agreements worth 26.2 billion yuan (US$3.61 billion) which were signed between China and Africa yesterday.

According to the ChinaDaily website, the agreements were signed by governments and business representatives at the third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha, the capital of Central China's province.

The Global Times quoted Namibia’s ambassador to China, Elia Kaiyamo, stating that he was looking forward to Chinese investment in Namibia, hoping to further expand bilateral trade with the world's second-largest economy.

"We are present at the expo to learn from China's best practices and explore opportunities for Chinese companies to cooperate and invest in Namibia," Kaiyamo told the Global Times.

Regarding some Western countries' attempt to "decouple" from China or "de-risk" their trade with China, Kaiyamo told the publication "we are ready to cooperate with China because China is a good market."
